ELECTRICAL FIXED WIRING TESTING (EBT) Electrical Buildings Test BS7671 standards, and the reasons why your premises require an electrical periodic inspection - PIR.

It is a legal requirement to ensure your building is electrically safe and is safe to the correct standards, complying with BS7671 IEE 16th Ed Wiring Regulations. This will be requested by your local authority for rented dwellings. It is your responsibility to provide information to them that a valid test has been carried out on your property. (see it it as insurance for yourself) 

Bare in mind the test file is not there to create more expense and complications for you, but is information to be used by yourself in order to reduce risk to your tennant(s).
